Sigh. I feel like I'm about to go in front of a firing squad. I don't know why firing squad, exactly, and not, say, lion's den or pit of venomous snakes, but there it is. Papers to grade, papers to write. $59.55 in the bank. I'm strategically mailing out my bills at the last possible second before they're due so that my checks won't bounce. I'm pretty sure we're getting paid again on Thursday or Friday, but I have to hold out on the spending until at least then. AND, there is no way I'm going to be able to fly home this Sunday--what was I thinking?--so I mailed my plane tickets back to Orbitz so that I can change my flight reservation . . . which means $100 plus the difference in fare. I have to wait until I get an email confirmation from them before I can make a new reservation, which is peachy fine with me because I won't have the $100 for the change-reservation fee until probably Friday anyway! By the way, I haven't broken this news to my parents yet. Bank: POW! (These are gunshots from the firing squad.) Airlines: POW! Class I'm taking: POW! Other class I'm taking: POW! Class I'm teaching: POW! "Winter Break": POW! POW! Break, my foot. I'm going to have to work on my CCCC paper and do reading for my spring classes in advance, most likely.
