I've become a lazy, sporadic blogger, but it's that time of the semester, so I don't feel too bad about it. Last night in my Gender and Science and Technology class, we watched a film called Born in the U.S.A.. For some time, I had been dismayed about birthing conditions for women, and from reading the work written by and recommended by Cheryl Lindsey Seelhoff, I developed an enthusiasm about midwifery and getting birthing back to WOMEN. But after watching that film, I am officially outraged about the way women are made to feel so afraid of giving birth, disempowered. Every feminist should be. I don't want children, but I wish I did, just so that I could do a midwife-attended home birth!
